A warm welcome awaits all guests, with tea, coffee and home baking served in the conservatory or in the garden, weather permitting.

Your hosts Jean and Angus are more than happy to discuss your holiday and suggest suitable eating places near by or within a short drive away.

Several places are available locally for food ranging from fresh fish & chips to haute cuisine.

We can also help plan the next stage of your journey with the aid of a wide selection of tourist brochures and maps.

On arrival guests are issued with a front door and room key to come and go as they wish.

The two bedrooms have recently been decorated to a high standard, with many thoughtful personal touches and each has a private en-suite shower room with natural pine floor good lighting and mirror. Each bedroom has, for your comfort and  pleasure, a decanter of Sherry, fresh garden flowers, a well appointed hospitality tray with a wide range of beverages and home baked shortbread biscuits. Remote control television, clock and radio, plus hairdryer, hot water bottles, extra blankets and for those suffering from jet lag an additional heater.
The upstairs twin bedded room has open views from the bay window, over the River Forth to the Edinburgh skyline and surrounding coast. Binoculars are available for use to study close-up either the river traffic, the bird life or Edinburgh skyline.

The ground floor double bedded room, with its high ceiling and antique furniture, is relaxing and spacious and looks out onto the ‘bird bath’ in the walled garden.

Breakfast is served in the conservatory, which is surrounded by one of the rockeries, here you can watch the local bird life or study the various plants and artifacts whilst enjoying your breakfast.

Breakfasts are made using fresh local produce where possible. Food is traditional Scottish fare  including home-made preserves.

One of the alternatives offered on the extensive breakfast menu is pancake filled with hot fresh fruit.
Sample menu can be forwarded on request.

With a little advanced warning special diets can be catered for.

The residents lounge is for guests to sit and relax, have a sherry and reflect on their holiday so far.

Internet access is available to enable guests to receive and send messages during their stay at "Gruinard".
