Burntisland is situated on the A921 between Aberdour and Kinghorn approximately 8 miles east of the Forth Road Bridge.

Travelling from:

The South & Edinburgh Airport:
 Follow signs to Forth road Bridge , Toll of £0.80 northbound only, cross bridge take Junction 1 off M90 , Follow A921 (7 miles) signposted to Kirkcaldy via Aberdour to Burntisland.

The North & Perth:
Take Junction 3 off M90, Follow A92 east (2 miles) . Take A909 signposted Burntisland (5 miles) The East & St. Andrews; Follow A92 or A915 signposted Kirkcaldy , then A915 through Kirkcaldy , A921 signposted Kinghorn & Burntisland (4 miles)  

The West & Glasgow Airport:
 Follow M8 to M9 junction 1 off slip A8000 follow signs to Forth Road Bridge , Toll of £0.80 northbound only, cross bridge take Junction 1 off M90 , Follow A921 (7 miles) signposted to Kirkcaldy via Aberdour to Burntisland.
'Gruinard' is a picturesque stone built cottage, built at the turn of the century and has been  refurbished to a very high standard with all modern facilities but keeping the original features of the period such as  fireplaces and natural wood panelling.

This attractive and appealing guest house has a friendly and informal atmosphere, along with stunning views over the River Forth to Edinburgh and its skyline beyond. The colourful  walled garden to the rear of the property is alive with local birdlife and contains unusual and very large driftwood sculptures  along with many other seaside treasures all of which have been recovered locally, and are to  be seen amongst the ever changing shrubbery.

Train:
Burntisland station is approximately a fifteen minute walk from ‘Gruinard’. Burntisland is situated on the main line between Edinburgh and Aberdeen. A frequent service is operated with two trains per hour. Taking the train to Edinburgh is a stress free way with no traffic or parking problems. Free parking is available at Burntisland Station. However, should you require transport to and from the station this can be arranged. The station at Edinburgh Waverley, is Central. Princess Street Gardens , The Castle, The Royal Mile and Holyrood Palace are all close by. The journey time from Waverley to Burntisland is 35 minutes.

Air:
The nearest airport is Edinburgh where the majority of travellers can hire vehicles to continue their journey. Taxis from the Airport to Burntisland can be costly. However, should you require to be collected from the Airport we can organise this for you at a reduced cost, please contact ‘Gruinard’ for more details. Approximate travelling time 40 minutes depending on traffic and time of day.
